O parere despre Gasland; nu e a mea, eu nu l-am vazut.
This mocumentary is full of flaws. Fracking fluid isnt pumped directly into the ground, its pumped into a pipe which is encased in cement. The fracking fluid then fractures the cement and by that time the pressure of the external gas pushing inward is too strong to allow the fluid to go anywhere but up and out. These people are getting sick because they had the good sense to drill a water well above the D-J and Piceance natural gas basins! They basically drilled their own gas well and are drinking the formation and production fluids! Anybody who understands natural gas production knows this is a load of crap. Most of it is made up and the rest is just ignorance. These people would have had water problems regardless of the natural gas producing companies in the area.

In the filmâs signature moment Mike Markham, a landowner, ignites his tap water. The film leaves the viewer with the impression the flaming tap water is a result of natural gas drilling. However, according to the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, which tested Markhamâs water in 2008, at his request, methane in his water supply had âno indications of oil & gas related impacts to water well.â Instead the investigation found that the cause was âbiogenicâ in nature, meaning it was naturally occurring due to the fact that his water well had been drilled into a natural gas pocket. The film leaves a clearâand falseâperception that hydraulic fracturing was to blame. This is simply not true, and there are several examples where the film veers from the facts. A second depiction of a flaming faucet in the home of Renee McClure in Colorado also leaves viewers with a false impression about the connection between gas industry activities and methane in water wells. McClureâs well was sampled by the state and it, too, showed only naturally occurring methane." I would caution viewers not to believe everything they see on TV and on the big screen as fact. I guess the movie wouldn't have been as exciting if there was no one to blame for the homeowner's flaming water.
