Schimba modela. Looks like she's trying way too much.

It was only my fault! First time with a model - not mine, just hired for the occasion by some pro who markets his studio by giving free lessons - I didn't know how to commuicate what I wanated anbd, to be frank, I didn't know what I wanted. She did her best to guess, but the pose still lacked expression of any kind of mood or emotion. I guess this is the hardest part in working with models: getting them to express what you want them to.

Well it's good anyway. A bit too sharp maybe but thats all. Try portraiture outside studio, much more interesting.

Eu cautam doar expresia unor emotii, o masca credibila, some good acting.

pt "emotii" si idei poti sa studiezi http://www.alexgalmeanu.com/ - portfolio - people I know... probabil si multi altii

I think that's the wrong take on portraiture. Don't try to elicit emotions and whatnot, because nobody is a good actor. Or maybe it's not the wrong take: if you succeed in doing that, then all the kudos to you. I think you should just be there, make 'em comfortable and capture whatever they decide to express. Maybe that's just me.

Have a look at Heidi Hollinger. This girl is amazing. She has a studio on Sherbrooke W. You should see the equipment: basically nothing. One of those pesky umbrellas, and half of the time not even that.

Into Galleries/
Then Celebrities, Politicians and Corporate.

You'll see how casual everyone is. And that's exactly the point: aside from Celebrities (most know how to pose), some politicians and most business guys are clueless about it. Yet, they're all natural. Bottom line: I think it's more the photojournalism kind of photo that makes the best ever portraiture. Camera in hand and screw the heavy studio setups.

Umbrele's ieftine da' are sticla profesionala, "L".
